The National RSPCA operates a National Cruelty and Advice Helpline, between the hours of 8am to 5pm 7 days a week. To report an animal in distress or get advice on animal welfare, call the number above. Alternatively, you can report cruelty or concerns here.
Information – National Cruelty & Advice Helpline
You will be asked to give a detailed account of what you have either seen or heard – in readiness see below information you will be asked;
- Your own name, address and telephone number
The inspector will need to contact you if you want to know about the result of the investigation. If you do not wish to give your details please don’t if you don’t want to. We follow strict GDPR and Data Protection Policies – your details will not be disclosed without your permission. - The date, time and place of the offence
If you are able to provide any photo evidence showing the cruelty involved this may be crucial evidence if there’s a prosecution case. - The name(s) and addresses of the person(s) involved if known
- The name and addresses of any witnesses
- The registration number and description of any vehicle involved
- State whether you would be prepared to testify in a court of law if necessary. The RSPCA always aims to prevent cruelty through education and opts for court proceedings only as a last resort
