Once Nova is your friend, she is there to stay, she turns into such a playful pup, with just the right amount of sweetness. However, this girl can struggle with strangers and people she doesn't know, especially if they intrude into her space with no respect for her boundaries. She needs people who are kind and can support her in these situations to help her feel safe and secure. Otherwise, she becomes very uncomfortable, and this can cause her to react out of fear and insecurity (vocal). To help keep Nova safe and support her when she is in worrying situations or there are lots of new people, Nova will happily wear a muzzle as she is fully muzzle trained. This is a fantastic tool that can be used to continue her education and build her confidence in a safe and supported manner.
She needs a single dog household with no small furries or cats, and where she can enjoy getting all the attention to herself. Outside of the home, Nova will happily walk around other dogs and interact with them, she just isn't ready to share her family with another dog.
We will consider homes with older, dog savvy children. She needs individual time, love and attention. She will make a cracking dog with this help and assistance. Nova's new family will need to come to the centre to meet her a number of times and to build a bond with her - and be mindful of these stranger worries when in the home, and out and about.
Nova is an extremely clever and loving girl who once she trusts you, will give you the world in love and attention, something you just can't buy!! This is a really special girl, who just needs a chance!

Here’s what her foster mum has had to say about her “Peanut is the sweetest girl, but she can still be a little unsure with life at times and is still gaining confidence each day. She can be unsure of new people but soon comes round if you let her come to you in her own time – I think she is naturally of a nervous nature, so her new family need to be understanding and patient. She loves her walks but most of all her favourite place to be is having a cuddle on your knee she is the biggest snuggle bum and sun worshipper! She loves dogs but is a typical terrier at times can get a little bossy with them so any introductions will need to be steady. We have children here at home but ours are older and nervous dog experienced which I think she will need moving forwards as when she is around younger children she will avoid and find them quite overwhelming and scary. She is used to be left for short periods and is fine with that and is fully house trained here so aside from the expected accidents as she moves into a new home, she will be a pleasure! A secure garden is a must as typical to the terrier she could be an escape artist if something catches her nose! She has been around cats of various ages as I foster those too and has been fine so again with careful introductions she should be okay.”
If you could offer our girl her dream home please send us over a completed application form – we can’t process your application without! Any adopters will need to travel to the centre multiple times to get to know Peanut.
Goose

Breed: Mixed Breed Large (over 20kg)
Species: Dog

Gender: Male
Color: White Brown
Age: 1 years 4 months
Date of Birth: October 29, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org

Since Goose has returned hes been a delight. This boy is a typical bully youngester who lovers everyone and everything he meets, including the vets! He loves to be up close and personal with you and will climb up onto your knee for fusses, cuddles and kisses! He has been like this from day one, - he never stopped being a happy little soul.
Goose picks up training really well and is super smart - we think he would flourish further with more training, to keep his brain engaged. He is brilliant in the house and loves his crate, for naps and breaks. He can still forget himself and at times, act like a little toddler and have the odd tntrum when he doasnt get his way but this is why we are looking for a family, that can help support him through this, and are happy to give him the time he needs.
While here Goose has made a number of dog friends but is still learning correct behaviours and maners around these introductions, but may be ok with a tolerant dog pal.We think Goose could live with dog experienced secondary schhol age children that understand and are used to bouncy dogs but this will be pending successful meet and greets to ensure everyone is comfy.
Goose is looking for a home where his new family, are happy to support him with the above, and who can show this boy that his forever family is out there.

Flash

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Species: Cat
Size: Medium
Gender: Male
Color: White Black
Age: 4 years 11 months
Date of Birth: April 14, 2020
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Once settled Flash really enjoys the company of people, including snuggles on the sofa, naps on your lap and even sneaking into the bed at night for some cuddles. He is just your typical cheeky chap that will try and push boundaries until settled into a routine. He also enjoys times where he has the company of his people but that isn’t always having a fuss or cuddle, he quite enjoys just being sat with and being around his favourite people.
He loves his creature comforts and fluffy blankets, even suckling these at times for comfort. His foster family have noticed he does have a rather cheeky side- when it comes to his play style – but this potentially because he has been taught previously to play with hands and feet, however he is getting so much better with this. Flash strings, laces and any form of dangling toys ...so long you're making them move, he is in his element. When he is in the cheeky mood, he can give out the odd nip when he's feeling sassy or just a little too excited! We strongly suspect this is overstimulation and with more space and fun things to do in a home this should calm down.
Flash will need to be able to go out and blow off some steam in his new home, with no other pets and children of secondary school age and over who can understand his fun and loving nature.
Do you have room for our Flash?

Princess Margerhita

Breed: Caine Corso (Italian Mastiff) Cross
Species: Dog
Size: Large
Gender: Female
Color: Black
Age: 1 years 8 months
Date of Birth: July 18, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield

With all this girl has been through in her short life, trusting humans completely can be a struggle but this girl try’s her hardest to see the best in us all. When she becomes a little unsure or overwhelmed by new people in some settings, she will simply try to avoid and get herself away to where she feels comfortable again. A lot of our work with this girl is confidence building – showing her that the world can be a fun and loving place -she just hasn’t had the right chances yet. When she does become nervous or unsure we just hang about and help her work through it in her own time, with no pressure just lots of yummy rewards.
Once she is your friend, boy is she your friend!! This girl is super friendly, she adores to be with you and loves going on adventures. She will climb up onto your knee for all the cuddles and kisses! Princess doesn’t know what personal space is, but she loves you with all her being and you can’t ask for more!!
Given Princess nervous but oh so loving nature we feel she will be best suited to a family with older teens who are confident around big, bouncy dogs, especially when she settles. We will of course do meets to make sure everyone is comfortable. They must also have experience with nervous large, guardian breed dogs, and be comfortable to continue with Princess socialisation and training.
While here Princess has made several dog friends, so again she could possibly live with another dog, but she can be quite full on with her play. So, any dog must be, confident, able to cope with Princess but also tell her off when needed and show her the way. It will of course all be pending successful meet and greets.
Any new family must be willing to continue Princess training and even potentially take her to classes, as well as be ok with young bouncy dogs. Her new family should also have researched Cane Corso or similar guardian breed ownership.
Could you offer Princess Margherita a new life and start she desperately deserves?
Belle

Breed: German Shepherd Dog (Alsatian)
Species: Dog
Size: Large
Gender: Female
Color: Black and Brown
Age: 1 years 6 months
Date of Birth: August 26, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Belle is an amazing pooch who has already been through so much in her life and sadly has spent a lot of time in kennels after having a lack of socialisation in her life before coming to us. We are looking for a shepherd experienced home that are willing to work with and understand Belle and her nervous nature.
Belle can be unsure of new people and situations and so we need a home that will allow Belle to live life at her pace without added pressures and teach her how fun life can be but in a way that she is comfortable with. This could include things like lots of confidence building and brain games at home before going on adventures at quieter times of the day and building on that – we are happy to offer any adopters additional behavioural support with this so for that reason we are looking for a home for Belle that is local to our rehoming centre. We know that Belle needs a low traffic household as people coming and going can upset her and a home without other pets while she needs her additional support. She is very shepherd vocal about certain situations, and this can include dogs but everyday we are supporting her and this is getting better, she is also having on-going support in terms of her lead manners as she may be small but she is mighty! Due to her nervous nature we think any children would also need to be late teens and over and have been around shepherds before.
Once she is comfy Belle is your typical chatty, loving and loyal shepherd! She will make someone an amazing addition to their family! They just have to understand that she may take a little time to get there!
For more information or to register an interest in Belle please email us on customerservices@rspcasheffield.org - and we will happily talk to any potential matching families.
Oscar

Breed: Terrier
Species: Dog
Size: Small
Gender: Male
Color: Brown
Age: 10 years 2 months
Date of Birth: January 1, 2015
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Oscar, is your typical sassy terrier boy, who likes life his way and we are here to serve his every need! Once he knows you, he is super friendly. He adores to be with you and loves going on short and slow adventures. He will climb up onto your knee for fusses, cuddles and kisses! When Oscar knows you he doesn't know what personal space is!!
However he can be shy around new people and come across as ignorant - he will just ignore you but after a few meets he usually gets used to you! So his new family must be willing to visit a few times to say hello. For this reason we also think Oscar would be better living in a quieter home with older teens if any children who can give him the time and space when needed. Oscar is very clear with his signals when he’s unhappy so it’s important that his family learn and listen to these!
Oscar will happily walk with other calm pooches but he isn't a fan of giddy in your face dogs - after all he is an older lad now! So we are looking for a home where he will be the only pet. Ozzie is on daily medication and will be for the rest of his life due to his osteoarthritis and so his new family will need to be comfortable and understand this. Sadly this isn’t something that will get better and Oscar will likely need more support for this the older he gets but right now he is as happy as can be and managing well!
We are looking to place Oscar in a foster to adopt home initially to help him transition so we are looking for a home more local to our rehoming centre.

Fern (Flower)

Age: 7 years 9 months
Date of Birth: June 3, 2017
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org

From the begining Fern has been a little sweetheart and just wants to be everyones friend. Typical of her breed she doesn’t know her size and will try to be a lapdog. She is such a clever lady when she is engaged, she just wants to please 🙂 She loves her tennis balls, and will play all day if you let her.
When she is out and about, we have introduced Fern to other dogs and she has walked alongside calm dog friends while here. She can be a little picky when it comes to her walking pals, and so we feel, Fern would be better as the only pet in the home. So she can have all the love and attention she deserves.
Fern just loves to be with her people and will smother you in affection, we think she would be ok to live with dog savvy children who have experienced large dogs and a secure garden is a must.
Ragetti (Bronson)

Breed: Bulldog (French)
Species: Dog
Size: Medium
Gender: Male
Color: Sable
Age: 4 years 8 months
Date of Birth: July 4, 2020
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Being a French bulldog he sadly doesn’t come without a few health issues stapled to his breed. For this reason, we are looking for a flat faced experienced home or a family that have done extensive research and are comfortable managing and affording these for the rest of his life. More details on this will be given to potential matches, but he does suffer from skin allergies that require baths and regular ear cleaning.
Despite all his medical procedures he has been nothing but a trooper throughout. Sadly, this has left him with reactivity towards strangers, but he has been through a lot in the time he’s been with us. To help support Raggetti with this he is now fully muzzle trained so, when he is in situations, he’s not comfortable with, he can be kept safe.
He loves going on adventures. He will climb up onto your knee for fusses, cuddles and kisses, but can take time to warm up to you. For this reason, any new family must be able to come to the centre to meet Raggetti multiple times a week to build a bond before he can go home, and this might be a slow process, but it will be so worth it as once he’s your friend he's the best boy.
With his nervous nature we think he will be better suited to a quiet home with, adults and older teens, ideally with stranger reactivity experience. A dog savvy cat is a maybe too, but he is quite a space invader and will be a little intrusive.
While here Ragetti has made a number of dog friends, so again he could possibly live with another dog. They will need to be happy to have a very rude in your face and giddy Frenchie wanting to play with them. It will of course all be pending successful meet and greets.

Manny

Breed: Domestic Semi Long Hair
Species: Cat
Size:
Gender: Male
Color: Black
Age: 8 years 0 months
Date of Birth: March 1, 2017
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Now he is a slow burn, and you may not get much from him in his introductory weeks to his new home, but with time a little sweetheart emerges and one that will gladly have a brush and fuss. Despite his nervous nature, we now know that with the right support Manny really does blossom into a lovely and affectionate boy on his terms.
He is looking for some very understanding people who can give him the space and time he needs to rebuild his confidence and can encourage him to come out of his shell as well as recognise when it all gets too much, and he might appreciate some space. We think Manny has the potential to become the perfect sofa prince, but this could be a little while off and will take a very special, loving home.
Manny has shown us that he is very full on and not always nice with felines so an only cat home is best.
At the moment, Manny is very attached to his creature comforts, his lovely soft blankets, beds and cat trees, so much so he would rather be laid out on one of these beds than out exploring nature, however as his confidence grows this could be something that he finds he is willing to explore, so an indoor home with view to potential access to outdoors or catio would be perfect for our boy. Manny is beautiful inside and out and could make a family a wonderful companion. If you feel you can provide our Manny the chance, he needs to grow please apply below.
Bella

Species: Dog

Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Age: 6 years 0 months
Date of Birth: March 5, 2019
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
From the beginning Bella has been a big, loveable, sweetie and just wants to be please you, anyway she can. Typical of her two breeds (Shepherd and Mastiff), she is very chatty, and she doesn’t know her size and will try to be a lapdog. She is such a clever girl, and is highley motivated by food:) She loves spending time with her carers - getting that one-on-one attention.
Bella has previously suffered from ear infections - and so does need regualr ear cleaning, and monitoring to keep on top of them, to avoid them getting re-infected, but she is so good for this.
When she is out and about, we have introduced Bella to other dogs, and she has walked alongside calm dog friends while here. She can be a little vocal at first, but this is just her talking. We think she would prefer a home to herself that give her the one on one atterntion she craves but would love to go for lots of walks with doggy friends.
Bella just loves to be with her people and will smother you in affection, we think she would be ok to live with dog savvy older school age children who have experienced large dogs and a secure 5ft garden is a must.
Miranda

Age: 1 years 9 months
Date of Birth: June 1, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Upon arrival Miranda was a little reserved and shy and she can still be this way on the odd occasion around people and situations that are new to her. However, once she is settled and comfortable she is such a confident, little lady making new friends all the time now. Although we can't blame her for everything, she has been through in her short life.
Miranda is a super sweet lady, who loves her routine – which is currently waking her foster family up each morning with her favourite toy – to let them know its play time. She is super playful and loves chasing around strings and ribbon toys. She is very chatty and will give you fusses and head bumps, but this is all on her terms and she can still find these interactions a little daunting and scary on the odd occasion. She will follow you around all day, but she doesn’t tend to sit in your lap or cuddle but will sit at the end of the bed a lot of the time and enjoys being around people, she loves if you tuck her in. She really is a little princess.
Ideally any children in her new home would need to be secondary school and have had experience with cats before.
Do you have a comfy spot on your bed for Princess Miranda?

Being a French bull dog he sadly doesn’t come without a few health issues stapled to his breed. For this reason, we are looking for a flat faced experienced home or a family that have done extensive research and are comfortable managing and affording these for the rest of his life. More details on this will be given to potential matches. But the main are his joints and bones (Spondylosis in his spine) – that come along with the breed and age.
Grinch never stops and is always on the go - he loves going on adventures. He will climb up onto your knee for fusses, cuddles and kisses. He loves to do his Frenchie zoomies around the field in the morning, it makes everyone smile.
We feel given Grinch's friendly nature he will be happy to live with children of primary school age that have been around giddy dogs, and potentially dog savvy cat is a maybe too but he is quite a space invader and will be a little intrusive.
While here Grinh has made a number of dog friends, so again he could possibly live with another dog. They will need to be happy to have a very in your face and giddy Frenchie wanting to play with them. It will of course all be pending successful meet and greets.

Age: 3 years 3 months
Date of Birth: December 23, 2021
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Upon arrival Cindy was a little unsure and chose to hide away - but not for long! Within a few days she had settled right in and was more than happy coming out to see us and bossing us all around! She did get a stressy tummy so is on a special diet at the moment but should be able to be weaned back over to a normal diet when she moves into her forever home.
Cindy Lou is a very very sweet and chatty lady! She enjoys company and spending time with her carers having lots of fusses and attention. She is quite a lively little cat and is looking for a home that can give her lots of attention and fun things to do, to keep her mind occupied or we could see her getting a little overstimulated.
Cindy may be able to live with another cat but that is very dependent on the resident cat’s personality as they will need to be very similar to her or we feel she will be a little too much for them. A home with cat savvy primary school age children and over would be ideal - but as always, we will do meet and greets here at the centre to ensure everyone is comfortable first.
Could you offer our pretty little lady her new forever home?

Age: 2 years 3 months
Date of Birth: December 1, 2022
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
When he first arrived it was clear that Bear had had limited interations with people and hadn't had alot of socilaisation, he was very fearful of the unknown and would lash out. We got to work tempting him to spend time near and with us with yummy goodies! He will now have fusses from his favoirte people and give us positive signs to show he is enjoying this! He is also extremely chatty to them and really enjoys the time with the people he knows. Bear is still very sensitive to sounds and quick movements, he will retreat to his safe space when he is startled and so his new family need to be patient and understanding with him. Bear is also very overstimulated at times and can be a little sharp, pointy and grabby when feeling this way, so some understanding of this will be needed too.
We feel now that it is best to try and find Bear his forever family to support him and love him. Ideally with nervous cat experience to support when the world feels a little too much, with no other pets and teenage children and over.
We know the right people are out there for our boy and we feel when he settles he will make someone an awesome addition to the family. Could that be with you?
If you feel you have what Bear needs and would like to apply for him please send a completed application form to customerservices@rspcasheffield.org - we can't process your application without one.
Bruno

Date of Birth: December 1, 2022

Phone: 01142 898050
Bruno has been nothing but a sweetie since the day he got here, even when he wasn't feeling great, he still enjoyed the company of his carers. He loves to spend time with his carers and explore his surroundings! He loves to give you head bumps and with him only being a young boy he has a very playful and active side too and loves to charge around and blow off some steam! He can be a little shy and coy when first meeting you - but it really doesn’t take him long especially with a few dreamies to warm up to you.
Unfortunately are boy does have something called a gallop rhythm, when he has had his vet checks - this could be either physiological (his nerves) or physical at which he will just need monitoring as he gets older - and making sure he attends regular checks at the vets. At the moment this isn't affecting him at all and may never, but we just need to make potential adopters aware for monitoring. We are happy to discuss this more with anyone interested.
We are looking for a new home where Bruno can continue to be shown love and all of the fun things in life. Any children in his new home would ideally need to be secondary school age and he will need to be an indoor only boy - so he can be kept a close eye on. He does also adore other cats - so feel he would benefit from a feline friend in his new home too.
Do you have space for our little love?

Flurry

Breed: Domestic Semi Long Hair
Species: Cat
Size:
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Age: 4 years 2 months
Date of Birth: January 15, 2021
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
Sadly the world is a scary place to Flurry at times and he is really looking for a new home with no extra pressures and where he can learn to put his paws up and relax.
When he arrived it was clear he hadn't had a lot of socialisation and so humans were a little scary to him at times so we have had to take it at his pace and gone slow and steady to ensure we have some positive interactions with our boy. Flurry now has a few favourite people that he will come out to chat to, have fusses and sit with. He will also happily sit out and watch the word go by now with the confidence he is safe and loved. You just must build a relationship with this boy, but once you are there, he is such a sweet and loveable little character.
Every day we see improvements with his carers that he has bonded with and so we know he can live happily with the right family so thought we would start the hunt for his forever home. Flurry needs very understanding people who realise that if he becomes a little sassy or hides away that it is all fear, and he is having to learn to live in a world that is completely new to him. Ideally a home that has nervous cat experience or young children would be perfect for him.
Although he came in with Hail, it would be nice if they could go together, they have been just as happy on their own so we feel they can be adopted together or separate. However, they do need plenty of space when together as just as most siblings the like their own things.
If you have the space for our boys, please send us over a completed application form to customerservices@rspcasheffield.org - we can't process your form without.
Baxter

Breed: Lurcher Cross
Species: Dog
Size:
Gender: Male
Color: Black and White
Age: 1 years 4 months
Date of Birth: November 1, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: customerservices@rspcasheffield.org
Phone: 01142 898050
We don't think Baxter has had much outdoor life exposure or real training and can find life in general a little overwhelming, and when this happens, he will often start jumping, spinning and want to go back to where he feels safe. We have been working with him through this, and he is so clever, his confidence is growing daily. His perfect family would be someone who is looking for a little project dog that they could maybe do a bit of agility, flyball or obedience training with (although his obedience is still very much a working progress hehe) He just wants to please - so we know once channelled and focused he will do amazing.
Once he is calm and comfortable he is such a little sweetheart and just wants to be everyone’s friend. Typical of his breeds (staffy x Lab) he doesn’t know his size and will try to be a lapdog. He loves his tennis balls and will play all day if you let him.
Sadly in the previous home Baxter had to fight for food with the other dogs in the home - so this has left him feeling anxious and defensive when around other dogs - so he will shout and try to get away from them. We are working with Baxter to show him that he can be around other dogs safely and that nothing will happen, but this is again something that needs to be continued in the home.
So for now we are looking for a home where Baxter will be the only pet so he can have all the one - on -one training, love and attention he both deserves and needs. Any children in the home need to be older teens or adult only, and ideally his new family need to be around most of the to, with a secure garden is a must.

He is a very handsome boy who really enjoys the company of people but that isn’t always having a fuss or cuddle, he quite enjoys just being sat with and being around his favourite people, he even closely supervises us while we clean his cat pen to make sure we are doing it right and folding all of his blankets correctly!
Although he is very friendly and chatty boy ,he can occasionally take some time to warm up to new people so we need a family that understands that he will need some extra support, but he is worth it. As when he is settled, he is a little character - who loves his food - he will shout if you’re a second late with his meals - but he is super clever too - so we often feed him in puzzle toys to keep him active both mentally and physically.
Kevin could live with older children but may consider younger, who can respect when he wants to be left alone and do his own thing, as he can be a little overstimulated and worried if he isn't comfortable with you doing something to him, but we don't blame him. We also think he could live with another cat of a similar temperament and potentially a cat savvy cat.
This fella really deserves to live the rest of his life, being pampered and spoilt – so he can just put his paws up and live his best life. Do you think you could be that person?

Upon arrival we needed to give them some extra TLC for a flea allergy which has meant that little Nina has had some fur loss. It was clear that our ladies had very different personalities too!
Nina - Miss Nina the tabby tornado! Nina is a very confident and outgoing cat who loves to be front and centre! She enjoys all of the attention and will give very enthusiastic fusses, head bumps and on your lap snuggles! She likes to play with her fishing rod too and does at times get a little over stimulated.
Luna - Miss Luna is so much more of a gentle soul, the calm before Nina's little storm! Luna takes time to warm up to new people and situations and will need lots of support in terms of hiding places around the house and patient, nervous cat experienced humans. Luna gets braver and better every day here, but we know she will be more of a working progress in the home.
The girls do get along quite well, and we think that Nina does help Luna with confidence so a home where they can stay together is a must. Sadly, no pooches though and any children need to be secondary school age and over and be nervous cat experienced so they can support and understand Luna.
If you could offer our girls their dream home, please send over an application form to customerservices@rspcasheffield.org - we can't process your interest without!

Upon arrival both boys where super sweet but a little shy and overwhelmed. It was also clear that our boys had very different personalities too!
Jerry – Our Jerry boy, is a very confident and outgoing cat who loves to be front and centre! He really does just want all of the attention and will give very enthusiastic fusses, head bumps and on your lap snuggles! He will play with his fishing rod toys but would much rather have any fuss he can get- he really is a human affection kind of guy – so his new family must be willing to provide this for him Hehe 😊
Tom – In contrast Tom is a much more reserved gentleman, who prefers to observe from the safety of his bed and lets Jerry do the investigating before he will venture out! Tom takes time to warm up to new people and situations and will need support in terms of understanding him and patience. You can tell he so wants to interact more and come over, but his confidence is still a work in progress, that we know will be a great reward when he does get there! Ideally his knew family will have some nervous cat experience or be willing to work with Tom alongside his crazy brother Jerry.
The boys do get along quite well, and we think that Jerry does help Tom with confidence so a home where they can stay together is a must. Sadly, no pooches though and any children need to be secondary school age and over, but we may consider slightly younger is they have been around nervous cats before.
