A fantastic evening of courage, community spirit, and fun, lit up
Havenstreet on Saturday 8th November, as 45 brave participants took
on the charity Firewalk, raising an incredible £6,000 in support of the RSPCA Isle of Wight.
The event was officially opened by Isle of Wight West MP Richard
Quigley, who proudly acted as the event’s “Firestarter” — and even
joined in the challenge himself, walking barefoot across the burning
embers to show his support.
Hosted at the Isle of Wight Railway at Havenstreet and by UK Firewalk,
the night brought together walkers, supporters, volunteers, and
spectators who created an unforgettable atmosphere, cheering on every
walker as they faced the flames. The funds raised will go directly
towards supporting animals and owners in need across the Island.
“It was an absolutely fantastic evening,” said Veronica Chrisp
Fundraising and Marketing Manager. “We’re so grateful to everyone who
took part, donated, or came along to cheer. The money raised will
support vulnerable animals at the Island Animal Centre and for that we
can’t thank our walkers enough.”
The charity extends heartfelt thanks to Isle of Wight Railway, UK
Firewalk, Richard Quigley MP, all the walkers, spectators, and the many
donors who made the night such a success.
