London Marathon 2027

This year, two of our amazing supporters are taking on one of the world’s biggest running challenges — the London Marathon — to raise vital funds for our Island Animal Centre

They’re not just running 26.2 miles. They’re running for the animals who have been abandoned, neglected, rescued and given a second chance.

Every day, RSPCA Isle of Wight works to care for animals in need across the island. Behind every rescue is an animal who needs food, warmth, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and, most importantly, a chance to feel safe and loved again.

Training for a marathon takes months of dedication, determination and countless miles. Our runners are putting themselves through that challenge because they believe every animal deserves the same chance to keep going — no matter how difficult their journey has been.

Your donation can help make every mile count.

Whether it’s £5, £10, £25 or whatever you can spare, your support will help provide the care and resources needed to give vulnerable animals a brighter future.

So when you see our runners pounding the streets of London, remember what they’re running for: wagging tails, gentle purrs, second chances and lives saved.

Please support our incredible marathon runners and help them reach their fundraising goals.

Together, we can turn every mile into a mile for animals.

Thank you for running alongside us.

Immy

‘Well…somehow I’ve signed myself up to run 26.2 miles around London!’

‘I’m taking on the London Marathon and, more importantly, I’ll be doing it to raise money for the amazing RSPCA Isle of Wight.’

‘Anyone who knows me will know just how much animals mean to me. They’ve always been a massive part of my life – from horses and dogs to cats and pretty much any other animal that comes my way! Give me the countryside, a pair of muddy boots and some animals and I’m happy. So when I had the opportunity to take on this challenge and raise money for the RSPCA Isle of Wight, it felt like the perfect cause.’

‘The staff and volunteers there do such an incredible job. They dedicate so much of their time to caring for animals that need a helping hand, giving them the love, care and second chances they deserve. And now it’s my turn to do my bit…although apparently my bit involves running 26.2 miles!’

‘Between now and the start line there will be hundreds of training miles, early mornings, questionable weather, sore legs and probably a few moments where I wonder what on earth I’ve got myself into! But knowing I’m doing it for a cause so close to my heart will keep me putting one foot in front of the other.’

‘My aim is to raise as much as I possibly can to support both the wonderful animals and the incredible people who look after them. Every donation really does matter. Whether it’s big or small, it all adds up and will give me even more motivation to get myself across that finish line!’

‘And if you can’t donate, sharing my page, following my journey or giving me a cheer along the way would mean the world too. So here we go…’

Emma

‘I am taking on the challenge to run the London Marathon 2027 for my local RSPCA on the Isle of Wight. All the money raised will to our Island based charity. I love animals would love to give back to a local charity close to my heart, who work so hard to care for all the animals in need until they are ready to go to their forever homes.’

‘I personally have wanted to run the marathon from a young age. I’m turning 50 this year so I thought, why not just go for it.’

‘If you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, I’d be very grateful. You will be supporting a brilliant local charity.’
