Some of you may have heard in the local news of a particular negligence case involving 5 kittens.
The case has finally been resolved, so we wanted to share our experience.
5 Kittens were rescued by our Animal Rescue Officer – all kittens had untreated ailments, eye diseases, rectal prolapses, flea and worm burdens – living in unhygienic and hazardous environments and without fresh water.
Sadly 1 kitten passed away and 2 kittens had to have one of their eyes removed.
The kittens were with us for nearly a year whilst the case was resolved. Our team did everything they could to rehabilitate and give the kittens the best start considering the circumstances.
The case has recently come to an end and all 5 kittens have found their happy ending!
We have received wonderful updates from their forever families. Two boys went together (Buster & Toffee) and they love exploring, playing with toys and enjoying the sunshine!
The two girls also went home together (Dot & Dinky), these two are like two peas in a pod, they love snuggling on a blanket and watching the activity in their garden.
The last boy went off to a new home, where he now has a new sibling, both have been showing each other the ropes.
It’s with thanks to our Animal Rescue Officer, our Vets, our Cattery Team, our adopters and our Cattery volunteers – that these 5 kittens can now start their new happy healthy lives!
Sadly 6 more Cats from this household have been obtained and are currently undergoing rehabilitation. These cats will be looking for foster homes and adopters in the near future.
