As part of Volunteers Week, we wanted to shine a light on the amazing volunteers we have and the difference they make to the most vulnerable animals on the Island. 🙌🏼
The roles and responsibilities of a volunteer at our branch vary – from walking dogs, reading to cats, taking animals to vet appointments, cleaning, working in our charity shops or at events, capturing content for social media and helping with admin, building and grounds maintenance. 😊
We have volunteers that have been with us for 30+ years who have been coming to our centre every week, we have a lovely gentleman that walks dogs for us every morning, we have a 92 year old who makes cards to raise money, we have many friendly faces greeting our shoppers. ✨
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for their support and hard work with our charity. We truly appreciate your kindness, time and dedication that you donate to improve the lives of the vulnerable animals in our care. Your efforts make a real difference and we’re so grateful to have you on our team! 🥰
Volunteering has many benefits and not only helps our charity but also the individual too. Benefits of volunteering include; meeting like minded people, gaining new skills, trying something new, doing something useful and rewarding, keeping active, giving back to the community, creating positive change and making a real difference. 😇
There are no minimum or maximum requirements for the amount of time you’d like to give. You can make a real difference in a few hours a month or a few hours a week. It all depends on how much time you have available and the level of commitment you can afford to give. 😊
